Combined Sewer Overflow (CSO) Monitoring, New Haven, CT

This complex project requires metering over 40 locations simultaneously in the combined sewer outfall (CSO) pipes and regulator structures for the Greater New Haven Water Pollution Control Authority (GNHWPCA). Based on the requirements of the project, CSL chose FloWav meters which met the accuracy requirements and provided the flexibility for data hosting and viewing through Telog’s Enterprise software. The project involved all aspects of flow meter installation, calibration, operation and maintenance, data collection, data analysis, and monthly reporting for the set of flow meters including summarizing all CSO events by duration, overflow rate, and volume. The project involved pipe sizes ranging from 18 inches to over 6 feet diameter, including in complex overflow regulator structures, and a wide variety of challenging hydraulic conditions. The data is being used for regulatory purposes as well as model calibration.

“CSL has always been extremely customer-friendly, and has made it their commitment to not only meet, but exceed my expectations. They have assisted me in providing flow monitoring and data analysis for several projects in the Bucks County Water and Sewerage Authority’s systems over the past several years, and I look forward to working with them for many years to come.”
